What is the difference between the PG350X and the PG750X?
-
The major difference between the PG750X and the PG350X is the number of holes each of the tile drills can produce. PG750X can drill 30-70 Holes compared to the PG350X - 20-30.
The PG750X has a much higher quality diamond compared to the other tile drills this gives it the ability to last longer.
-
Why can only achieve 5 holes when using the PG750X tile drill?
-
To achieve the maximum amount of holes from the PG750X follow a few simple steps. Keep the RPM high, 2000-3000 RPM is the optimum speed for tile drilling.
Osculate the tile drill when drilling (this will improve the drilling performance and help to remove debris from the drilled tile).
Let the wax coat the diamonds after drilling (30 secs). Tap out all the debris from the centre hole of the tile drill (the most important step).
Cool / rinse the tile drill in water (this will remove the remaining debris from the tile drill). The steps above will ensure you get the maximum from the PG750X tile drill.
-
Can I re-sharpen a PG750X?
-
No, the PG750X is a vacuumed brazed diamond product which means the diamonds are directly bonded to the tile drill, this means using a dressing stone will damage the tile drill and not re-sharpen it.
The diamonds on the PG750X are of such a high quality re-sharpening them is never required.
-
What is the maximum speed for the PG750X?
-
The PG750X "Hex" (drills with the 490.102.*** part number) maximum speed is 3,000 RPM. The PG750X "M14" (drills with the 490.202.*** part number) maximum speed is 11,500 RPM. Take a look at the Marcrist PG750x drill bit
-
Can I wet drill with the PG750X?
-
The PG750X can be used with water. This must be a constant flow of water.
Using a sponge and keeping the tile drill damp will cause more damage to the tile drill. If the tile drill is just damp this will create a paste and will cause damage to the diamonds on the tile drill.
Under damp conditions, the internal wax will not activate within the tile drill and not protect the diamonds also. In all cases the optimumum way to use the PG750X tile drill is dry.
-
Will osculating the tile drill make my hole bigger?
-
Yes, osculating the tile will make the hole fractionally bigger.
Please remember the tile drill is only one part of the fixing solution, the rest of the hole in the masonry is drilled with the masonry drill bit which can be kept nice and tight insuring the fixing is securely fitted in place.

-
What is the maximum RPM for the PG350 tile drill?
-
The maximum speed for the PG350 is 2600 RPM for the 6mm , 8mm & 10mm. And 1500 RPM for the 20mm and above.
-
Can the PG350 be re-sharpened?
-
Yes, the 6mm , 8mm and 10mm can be re-sharpened by drilling into a soft ceramic tile dry. The 20mm and above can not be re-sharpened due to the technology used on the tile drill.
-
Can I use a impact driver with the 6, 8 & 10mm drill bits?
-
Yes, the 6, 8 & 10mm tile drills can be used with a impact driver just keep the feed pressure low and let the bit do the work, if the impact comes in just back off the pressure as all you need is the rotation part of the impact driver.
-
Can I use the PG850 without water?
-
No, the PG850 must be used with water using the PG850 water swivel only.
-
Can I use the PG850 wet without the water swivel?
-
No, the PG850 must be used with the PG850 water swivel, the reason for this the PG850 must have a constant flow of water, the water flow must be from the inside to the outside of the tile drill.
-
What size is the thread of the PG850?
-
½ x 20UNF.
-
My tile is stuck on the inside of the tile drill. How do I remove it safely?
-
If the tile is stuck inside of the tile drill and is hard to remove, try using the extraction pin this will safely aid you in removing the tile from the tile drill.
Never force the tile drill as this may stretch the diamond crown and may cause it to crack.
-
What is the correct drilling speed for the PG850?
-
The PG850 tile drills will work between 800-3000 RPM.
Match the recommended speed as close a possible to the machine you are using.
